On Friday, July 11, our team took a powerful step forward. We participated in a training session led by to identify signs of child trafficking. The session was enriching, practical, and deeply eye-opening. We can now proudly say we are certified and equipped to use the Empowering Freedom anti-child trafficking e-tool.

Why does this matter, especially for us as a dental team? Because sometimes the signs that someone needs help aren’t spoken, they're seen. Dental teams are uniquely positioned to notice subtle warning signs during routine visits: unexplained injuries, unusual behaviour, or fearful interactions.

With World Trafficking in Persons Day coming up on July 30, we’re reminded that awareness is a responsibility. Being able to spot the signs means we can be a lifeline for someone who may not have the words or freedom to ask for help.

To our patients, it means that when you sit in our chair, you’re receiving care for your smile AND you’re being seen and valued as a whole person, in a safe space. 🙏🏾

Knowledge empowers freedom. Together, we can be part of the fight to protect the most vulnerable among us.
