Open Arms Drop-In Centre was established in November, 2006. We operate a Day Centre for homeless adults (male & female), which open from 7:45am – 6:00pm, a night facility for existing clients from 6:00pm to 7:45 am. (men only). We also operate a Transitional Housing, a 28 single unit facility called Maureen’s Place.
Maureen's Place was established in February, 2011 primarily for involuntarily returned and ex-offenders residents.
The Open Arms Drop-In centre is currently managed by Friends of the Homeless (FOH). The Friends of the Homeless, under the distinguished patronage of her Excellency, the Most Honorable Lady Allen, is a non-governmental, non-profit organization which is committed to eliminating homelessness in Jamaica. The FOH will Liaise with Governmental and Non-Governmental Organization and individuals to garner financial and other support.

The Open Arms Drop-In Centre was established to help eliminate homelessness in Jamaica, by caring for the homeless in a loving atmosphere. We are committed to empowering persons to become transformed from a state of homelessness to maximizing their potential.

GOALS
1. As part of a national strategy the Open Arms Drop In Centre aims to positively impact the lives of at least 90% of the homeless persons in Kingston and St. Andrew each year
2. Build inner strength by creating a Christ centered atmosphere
3. To train and guide clients in the basic personal and interactive skills which will enhance self-esteem
4. Rehabilitate client with the goal of returning them to their families and communities.

Seating for approximately 100 persons
Sponsors for supper & food (meat, dry goods and canned)
3 large pots & a large frying pan
Men shoes/soft sole/sandals (urgent)
Toiletries (soap, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrush)
Cleaning products and Laundry soap
90 knives and spoons (not disposable)
Stationery Supplies
Medical supplies: - Analgesics, dressings, disposable gloves etc
