The National Family Planning Board (NFPB), empowered by the 1970 National Family Planning Act, is the Agency of Government responsible for preparing, carrying out and promoting sustainable family planning and s*xual and reproductive health services in Jamaica.
The NFPB has been in existence since 1967. Over the years, we have been able to achieve many of our national goals, including a lowered fertility rate, an increase in contraceptive use, a decrease in new HIV infections, the elimination of mother-to-child transmission of HIV, an increase in the number of persons aware of their HIV status and an increase in persons on treatment.
At the NFPB, we continue to provide friendly services to persons of all ages as we aim to improve the quality of life of all Jamaicans by helping them to achieve optimal s*xual and reproductive health.
