Please email all questions and inquiries to jakidney.kids@gmail.com. The Jamaica Kidney Kids Foundation (JKKF) is a charity founded in 2012 with the goal to improve the care of children with kidney disease across Jamaica, especially the disenfranchised segment of society for whom it is next to impossible to afford treatment elsewhere. We achieve our goals by:
- Hospital support: Providing supplies

to hospitals that care for such children (e.g. supplying the paediatric dialysis service at the University Hospital of the West Indies (UHWI) with consumables needed for life saving dialysis).

- Education: Hosting conferences, workshops, and public exhibitions to inform doctors and the public about new developments in renal care and the maintenance of good kidney health.

- Education: The JKKF Scholarship Fund – Assisted in sponsoring Paediatric Nephrology Fellowships abroad for 2 Jamaican paediatricians who have now returned as paediatric kidney specialists:one at the University Hospital of the West Indies and the other at Cornwall Regional Hospital.

- Family Support Group: Providing emotional support for families of children with kidney disease. The Directors of this Foundation are:
- Dr. Maolynne Miller,
- Mr. Craig Chin,
- Mr. Andrew Cocking, and
- Ms.Erin Hayle

A Kidney Kid needs OUR HELP!!!🙏🏾🙏🏾

Abandoned in hospital since infancy, Kemar is now 16 years old and is being looked after by the adult team at The Spanish Town Hospital. Social workers and the paediatric staff have been his family.

However, while at UWI Hospital waiting for hemo catheters for dialysis, he had a seizure and broke both legs and his hip.

While he’s recovering, he is in dire need of clothes. Although he’s 16 years old, he’s very small in stature. He desperately needs size 8 boys clothes.

We say thank you in advance for your support and any donations possible!

While more commonly associated with adults, children can develop kidney stones too.

Kidney stones in children are often linked to dietary factors, lack of hydration, and certain medical conditions or medications.

Help to avoid kidney stones by encouraging
adequate fluid intake and limiting excessive sodium and protein in the diet.
