Pregnancy can make you more likely to get heat exhaustion, heat stroke, or other heat-related illness sooner than those who are not pregnant. This is because your body must work harder to cool down both you and the developing baby. Pregnancy can also make you more likely to become dehydrated. Extreme heat can actually result in preterm labour. This is why it is essential to keep as cool as possible during the summer. In addition to the tips noted above remember to elevate your feet to reduce swollen angles. The heat and humidity can cause fingers and toes to swell during pregnancy, so it’s best to remove all rings. Do not engage in strenuous activities or overexert yourself.
Seek medical advice if feel ill in the heat, or you are worried you might be dehydrated or have heat exhaustion or heatstroke.

If a mother has a family history of conditions like polycystic o***y syndrome (PCOS) (there is 8X higher risk), endometriosis (there is a 7X higher risk), or early menopause, her child may be at a higher risk of developing these conditions as well.
If a mother had difficulty conceiving or maintaining pregnancies, it may be an indicator that her child could also face fertility challenges. Recurrent miscarriages for your parents could indicate either parent has a chromosomal abnormality that could be passed onto you and cause similar issues. However, fertility issues can be influenced by a wide range of factors, including lifestyle, age, and overall health.
That’s why discovering and knowing your family health history is important.

Your va**nal pH levels play a role in preventing infections. This imbalance can occur for a number of reasons, including when a woman: has unprotected s*x, experiences changes in hormones, is having her period and does not maintain good hygiene habits. A va**nal imbalance can result in a fishy odor, an abnormal discharge, discomfort and itching.
Some scientific evidence suggests probiotics may help prevent imbalance in the va**na.
You should schedule an appointment with your gynecologist if you suspect you have bacterial vaginosis or a yeast infection as you will still need treatment. Probiotics will not primarily treat your infection. It may only help to reduce the chance of the infection coming back and in establishing a healthy va**nal balance. Probiotics, or lactobacillus found in probiotics, produce lactic acid which subsequently produces hydrogen peroxide. Production of hydrogen peroxide contributes to a healthy va**na, establishing defense against pathogens. Taking a probiotic is a possibly beneficial behavior, with no known risks for healthy women.

Dengue is an illness spread through mosquito bites to people. During pregnancy, the immune system undergoes changes to support the growing foetus, making pregnant women more susceptible to infections like dengue. Prevention is the best remedy for avoiding dengue.
Insect repellents with any of the following active ingredients are safe in pregnancy: DEET, Picaridin, and Oil of lemon eucalyptus. Mosquitoes are most active during dawn and dusk. Pregnant women should avoid outdoor activities during these times. If you do have a fever, avoid being bitten to prevent transmission of dengue within your household.
If you develop symptoms of dengue, see your doctor immediately.

Bleeding between periods or bleeding outside of a normal menstrual cycle is abnormal (irregular) va**nal bleeding. Vaginal bleeding not caused by menstruation can be caused by pregnancy, specifically it could be implantation bleeding, a miscarriage or an ectopic pregnancy.
What does implantation vs period bleeding look like? The only way to tell the difference is to take a pregnancy test. There is no way to tell the difference between intermenstrual bleeding and implantation bleeding just by looking at the blood.

A fertility check is an assessment, performed via blood test to predict a woman’s current fertility and her likelihood of conceiving later in life. Your natural hormone levels will be altered due to the synthetic hormones in your system, and you will not be able to get an accurate result of your natural menstrual cycle hormone levels because of the effect of the hormonal contraception, including your follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), lutenising hormone (LH), or estradiol. Regarding your AMH (Anti-Mullerian Hormone), while some studies have concluded that use of birth control doesn’t lower AMH levels, others have concluded the opposite. The best answer is that birth control may decrease AMH levels slightly, for a short time, and this effect might depend on the person or even the type or brand of birth control they’re using. If it turns out that your results are unusually low, then it would be best go off birth control for 2–3 months and test again.

Smaller abscesses may get better or drain on their own. Treatment may include:
▪️Supportive care, such as soaking the area in warm water to help ease pain and promote healing or draining
▪️Medications such as pain relievers to ease discomfort and antibiotics to treat infection.
▪️Some people may need surgery to open and drain a large abscess.
To lower the risk of this problem wash the vulvar area with soap and water. Dry it well.
Clean and treat any minor skin wounds, such as those from hair removal treatments. Do not wear tight clothing.

30/05/2023

Pap smears do not diagnose cancer, but they detect 95% of cervical cancers at a stage when they cannot be seen with the naked eye. They can then be treated and are almost always cured. Though Pap smears do not specifically test for other gynecological problems or s*xually transmitted diseases, Pap smears will indicate the presence of abnormal cells for which further testing or examination would be required. Any suggestion that it might cause a miscarriage is false. It is normal to experience minor bleeding after a Pap smear when you are pregnant because blood flow to the uterus increases, which causes the cervix to bleed more easily when touched. Any type of bleeding is understandably alarming while pregnant, but in this case the blood is coming from the outside of your cervix – not inside the uterus, where the baby is safe and developing.
