At the age of 9 years after a visit to my pediatrician, I became enamored with the idea of becoming a doctor. At that time, being a doctor was a predominantly older male profession. Now that I am one, representation of black females in medicine is so important to me to show little girls that they too can have their dreams come through. Happy women's month.
