In solemn remembrance, we honor Corporal Calavous Williams of the Jamaica Defence Force, whose life of service and sacrifice was commemorated at the Garrison Church of the Ascension, Up Park Camp.
As the final notes of the bugle faded into silence and the crisp salutes were rendered one last time, we witnessed not merely a ceremony, but the profound farewell to a defender of our nation. Each ceremonial step, the folded flag, and words spoken echo volumes of a life dedicated to duty, honor, and country.
In the hallowed quiet of the church and against the backdrop of full military precision, we found ourselves reflecting on the weight of service and the cost of commitment that Corporal Williams embodied throughout his journey.
To his family, who shared him with Jamaica, to the comrades who stood beside him, and to a grateful nation, we offer our deepest respect. May his legacy of selfless service continue to inspire those who follow in his footsteps, and may his spirit find eternal peace.
