We are fully aware of the videos circulating on social media and feel compelled to share our thoughts here.
The hearse was inspected, and while the exact cause of the delay at the graveside remains unclear, we sincerely apologize to the family for any inconvenience caused. A responsible vehicle owner ensures their vehicle is properly serviced to maintain safety. However, vehicles are man-made and, therefore, can malfunction unexpectedly.
The delay lasted less than two minutes. At times, we experience delays and, in the absence of clear explanations, may jump to conclusions. Whether it was divine intervention or a mechanical issue—whatever it was, it was beyond our control. God is good all the time, and under His protection, a delay does not mean denial.
A family is in mourning: a nine-year-old is left without a mother, a spouse without a partner, and parents and a sibling have had to bury a beloved daughter and sister. To those who created and shared those videos—where is your compassion? It is unconscionable to add to the pain of a grieving family. The terms "loved one" and "deceased" are used by funeral professionals, not the words some of you chose to use. We will not elaborate further.
Sharona, we met you and your family during the loss of your grandfather, and now through the passing of your sister. Our hearts go out to you and the rest of your family. We apologize again for any inconvenience this may have caused. Please continue to hold strong; God is with you. Thank you for your understanding and for your expressions of gratitude for the service we provided. You will forever remain in our thoughts and prayers.
To all who left positive comments on the videos, thank you. Thanks also to those who reached out to Shanique's family in support, and to those who called us to express appreciation for our continued professional service.
To other funeral directors who may have faced similar scrutiny on social media: do not be dismayed. Our job is not easy, but someone must do it. As we remain committed to serving families with dignity and compassion, let us continue to support one another with prayer, strength, and solidarity.
We know this message may generate many responses, and so to our supporters, we thank you in advance for your kind words. As for the negative ones, we encourage you to simply choose not to engage. This is where we close this chapter.
God bless you. One love.
