While you can substitute Epsom salt with sea salt or Himalayan rock salt, we highly recommend you use Epsom salt as it is loaded with magnesium and is more potent as a detoxifying agent.

Baking Soda

Baking soda is a terrific detoxifying agent. It is especially beneficial in identifying and neutralizing the radioactive toxic particles that settle on your skin and cause harm to your health.

If you work in an industrial setting, live close to industries or simply spend too much time in the sun exposed to its harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays, this detoxifying bath is for you.

Steps:

Turn on the faucet and start filling your tub with warm water.
As your tub fills, sprinkle in 2 cups of baking soda.
Next, sprinkle in 2 cups of Epsom salt.
Turn off the faucet when the tub is full and mix the ingredients thoroughly into the water with your hands.
Soak in the bath for 20 to 50 minutes.
In addition to detoxifying your body, this bath will clear up congestion, relieve pain in aching joints and muscles, and might even help you lose weight.

Additional Tips:

Some people have reported feeling thirsty or dehydrated while taking this bath. Make sure you keep a water bottle handy and drink it throughout the soak if you feel this way. Moreover, this may indicate your body is dehydrated. Consult your doctor to find out if there’s a particular reason for it.
It’s best to take this bath before bed, sleep and take a shower the next morning. If you are not taking this bath before bed, wait 4 hours after the bath before you shower.
General Additional Tips

The quantities of the ingredients listed above are suitable for medium to large bathtubs. If you have a small bathtub, reduce the quantities proportionately.
You can add 5 to 10 drops of eucalyptus, lavender, rosemary, peppermint or thyme essential oil to any of these baths. Not only will they infuse your bathwater and your body with a heavenly fragrance, they will also act as relaxing, antiseptic, antibacterial and pain-relieving agents.
If you add essential oils, take care when getting out of the bath as they can often leave the surface slippery.
Exfoliate dead skin cells from your body by dry brushing it before the bath to allow the therapeutic ingredients to reach your pores even more easily.
If you wash yourself after the bath, make sure you only use an all-natural soap.
Light some aromatic candles and play some soft music as you bathe for further relaxation.

A great way to kick start your weight loss is to change the way you eat. Your meals should have far less starch and more protein. Never skip breakfast and your dinner should not be heavy and should always be before 8pm. Don't allow yourself to be hungry and keep a healthy snack with you always (an apple, peanuts etc.). Never tell people you are on a diet, say that you are changing the way you eat to see if it makes a difference in your life :)

It takes some time to get to your desired weight but trying something a little, day by day it will soon become a habit and results will follow soon. Block out negative talk about your weight loss. If you are falling behind that's ok, pick yourself up and start your weight loss journey again.
