Today is World Birth Defects Day, a day to recognize a staggering reality: approximately 8,000 children are born with birth defects every single day. 🌍
Tragically, 94% of these children are born in low- and middle-income countries where access to specialized medical care is often out of reach. Without support, these children face a lifetime of physical barriers.
At Pediatric Orthotic Global Outreach, we believe every child deserves the chance to live a mobile, independent life. We’ve seen firsthand how early intervention and consistent, specialized care can rewrite a child’s future.

Look at this incredible BEFORE & AFTER! This transformation happened during a single clinic visit. This work is only possible because of our dedicated teams who volunteer their time and skills, traveling internationally with suitcases full of donated bracing and new supplies.
You can make this possible. Your financial support directly funds our clinic work and provides essential socks, shoes & bracing supplies for these children.

✨Throwback Thursday ✨

Eleven years ago, we had the privilege of joining the incredible work already underway at the Elaine Allen Bradley Paediatric Orthotic Foundation in Negril, Jamaica.

Since then, year after year, we’ve worked together to provide pediatric orthotic care that helps children gain mobility, independence, and confidence.

A heartfelt thank you to RIU Hotels & Resorts, proud sponsor of the clinic, whose continued support makes this outreach sustainable and impactful.

Grateful to be part of something bigger — 11 years and counting!

Why We Do It Wednesday 💛

Every brace tells a story.
A story of strength.
A story of resilience.
A story of a child who just wants to move, play, and keep up.

This is why we do it.

Because mobility changes everything — confidence, independence, opportunity.

Thank you to every supporter, donor, and volunteer who helps us put possibility in motion. 🌍👣

When we saw Arianna in December 2025 we did not have a brace to fit her. Her previous KAFOs had broken several months prior to our visit. We found the perfect donated braces for her the night before we left for our trip! Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, donors and volunteers she is back on her feet and moving again!

✨ Transformation Tuesday: 10 Years in the Making! ✨
We are bursting with pride today as we celebrate a massive milestone for the incredible Onecia! 🎊
For the past decade, Onecia has been a vital part of the Pediatric Orthotic Global Outreach (POGO) family. Her journey hasn't always been easy—ten years ago, she began her treatment requiring the support of both a full leg brace and a back brace.
But Onecia is a fighter. 💪 Through years of hard work, resilience, and expert care from our team, she reached a huge goal today: GRADUATION DAY! 🎓👟
Onecia has officially transitioned out of her back brace and moved from a full leg brace to a short leg brace! This progress is a testament to her strength and to the life-changing impact of early intervention and specialized orthotic care.
Join us in the comments to cheer on Onecia for her amazing dedication! We can’t wait to see where these next steps take you. 👣❤️

The POGO team has
arrived in Negril and is starting out strong for the February clinic! The team has already created a very custom piece (two orthotics put together to make a prosthetic) 🧠🧠 for a young man born without a femur, and built custom walkers out of PVC to get 3 kids mobile!

We are so excited to share that our POGO team will be headed to Jamaica next month for our next pediatric orthotic outreach trip! We’ll be providing custom braces, mobility devices, AFO socks and AFO friendly shoes to children who otherwise wouldn’t have access to these life-changing tools.

If you want to learn more about our mission or how you can contribute please visit us at lovepogo.org!

Mobility is independence. A proper orthosis can mean the difference between staying home and being able to go to school or play with friends. We are incredibly honored to use our collective skills to support these families and help these children find their stride!

Here Is a quick instructive video about how to make a pediatric walker out of PVC pipe. PVC piping is fairly easy to work with, inexpensive and widely available.

This may be the only option available for many kids around the world to obtain this type of assistive device!

The POGO team is SO grateful for your recent donations in support of Melissa Relief Efforts in Jamaica! UPDATE: The team has been in communications with officials in the area and has postponed the trip there due to unstable conditions. We're exploring other options to get essential items and food to the community there as soon as possible.

We're so grateful for our partner sponsor Negril and RIU Palace Tropical Bay Jamaica that is taking care of the community there with meals from the resort kitchen! Read more below:

We are proud to announce the official launch of Pediatric Orthotic Global Outreach, otherwise known as POGO. For over two decades, Gabe and Jodi Beversluis have been on a mission to transform the lives of children through pediatric orthotic care.

Today, as a recognized 501(c)(3) non profit organization, POGO is working to improve independence for children in disadvantaged and underserved regions of the world who are struggling with physical disability.

POGO currently works closely to provide free orthotic care at Pediatric Orthotics Services in Negril, Jamaica. Patients arrive at our clinic and are assessed to determine the most appropriate care. Our model consists of re-using and customizing pediatric bracing which has been used and when out-grown, and donated by families in the USA.

In light of the recent devastation of Hurricane Melissa, POGO is mobilizing to provide emergency supplies and aid to clinic families and the community of Negril. Many of the families and organizations the clinic serves have been greatly impacted by the path of Hurricane Melissa. Our founding members will be traveling in coming weeks to deliver necessary aid, as POGO seeks to support the community, not just the individual.

If you are looking for a way to support those impacted by Hurricane Melissa, we are seeking community donations to purchase and deliver lifesaving supplies and care to the community we serve.
