GSET INSTITUTE STORY
Glowing Star Elite Training Institute is a prominent, private school located right in the heart of the town of Old Harbour, St. Catherine, Jamaica; focused on nurturing inquisitive learners through a comprehensive curriculum. We started in 2013, at 115 Manchester Road, Mandeville, Manchester and has been relocated to 4A Darlington Drive, Old Harbour. Our teaching methods incorporate experiential learning with the integration of technology. We also integrate problem-based learning into many of our classes, and concentrate on developing students' research and writing skills. Our school is designed to meet the needs of both gifted and creative students, and slow learners. We are blessed with highly professional and qualified teaching staffs, who are very patient and hold the matter of confidentiality in high esteem. We offer a small classroom setting, where each student is given individual attention and learn for mastery of content, rather than preparing for a standardized test. Our CSEC subjects’ curriculums are specifically arranged so that all topics are covered before examination date, with sufficient time allotted for review. Phonics is the bases of the curriculum for our reading classes; geared for those persons who cannot read or slow readers. The remedial Mathematics program begins with basic concepts that move students to the more complex development of skills. We also offer individualized tutoring to student preparing for both GSAT/PEP and GNAT examination, leading to the attainment of high scores in their examinations. The computer class serves to introduce students to the basics of Microsoft applications and web browsing. Glowing Star Elite Training Institute is at the forefront in the use of technology as an educational tool for our students and staff. We are equipped with wireless internet, which is accessible to staff and registered students; as in this 21st century, students have increased opportunities to use technology as tools for research, composition, and problem solving. Take advantage of our highly equipped Medical Skills Room for the Allied Health Programs. It is fitted with all the equipment you need to be familiar with in the work environment. The staffs in this department have a track record of 100% pass rate in City & Guilds Examination with very high grades. We strive to provide working experiences for all our skill courses. In fact, our nursing students, begin on the job training from the third week into their program, making them well experience at the completion of the program. The Instructors in all of our departments are highly skill and experience in their field of specialty and work relentlessly to guarantee the student success! Our two months Summer School program integrates learning and fun and is structured for children 3 to 12 years old. The children improve their reading, writing, mathematical, artistic and other skills as they explore historic and current events. For social development and enjoyment we explore a variety of fun sessions of drama, singing and dancing.
