حرصًا من الجمعية العلمية الملكية على تطوير خدماتها الفنية وادخال أحدث أجهزة الفحص المتطورة لمختبراتها، تم ادخال جهاز لمختبرات الميكانيك وهو أحد المجاهر الإلكترونية المتقدمة التي تستخدم لتصوير سطح المواد على مستوى تكبير عالٍ جدًا حيث تصل قدرة الجهاز لغاية تكبير 300 الف مرة .

يُستخدم هذا الجهاز في مجالات علم المواد والمعادن وغيرها لإجراء الفحوصات الخاصة بتحديد نوعية الجلفنة والتركيب الكيميائي للسبائك المعدنية وتوزيع العناصر داخل المادة المفحوصة .كما انه مهم ايضًا في مجالات البحث العلمي ومراقبة الجودة.

The Royal Scientific Society is pleased to announce the expansion of its technical services through introducing the highly advanced Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) in its Mechanical Laboratories.

The SEM is used to take images of the surface of materials at a very high level of magnification, with zoom up to 300,000 times. It is generally used in different fields such as materials science, metallurgy, determining the type of galvanization, the chemical composition of metal alloys, and mapping of elements within the examined material.

The SEM is also so important and widely used in scientific research and quality control operations
