Grateful to share our poster presented at the 17th Annual Muslim Mental Health Conference in Westland, MI:
“Individual Burnout, Collective Resistance – Emergency Medical Teams in Gaza”
This project documents the psychological toll and ethical challenges of providing psychiatric care during active genocide, and the extraordinary resilience of Gaza’s frontline healthcare workers.
It’s been an honor to share this journey with Dr. Deborah Weidner, my colleague and fellow psychiatrist on the ground in Gaza. Her insight, humility, and unwavering commitment to mental health in crisis zones continue to inspire me.
Together, we witnessed both unimaginable hardship and the profound strength of collective resistance.
