BabyCord Jordan- Saving Lives
BabyCord Jordan (BCJ) was initially established in 2005 to market and facilitate the collection and transportation of cord blood units for family banking at the New England Cord Blood Bank (NECBB) in the USA. As of April 2016, BCJ is operating as an independent cord blood bank led by notable medical advisors and experts in scientific and regulatory aspects of cell banking. BCJ has established a fully functional facility for cell banking, applying current Good Tissue and Manufacturing Practices (GTP/GMP) and operates in accordance to the highest American and European regulations. We are honored to be the first and so far the only family cell bank licensed by the Jordan Ministry of Health. BabyCord Jordan to provide storage of stem cells isolated from various sources including umbilical cord blood and umbilical cord tissue. Currently, BCJ serves parents from Jordan and other regional countries. Over the last twelve years, approximately 3000 cord blood/cord tissue collections were cryopreserved (banked) at NECBB/ BCJ. Of importance, majority (> 95%) of parents registered after April 2016, have elected to save their baby’s cells at the BCJ’s facility.
