The founders were the well-known pathologist Yahya Al-Dajani; MD, the microbiologist Marwan Khoury; PhD, the immunologist Basma Ibrahim; MD and the Biochemist Hani Barakat; MSc. Founders with more than 50 years of total experience in diagnostic laboratory business were able to launch and operate Yafa Medical Laboratories (YML). In 2008, Salem Akel, PhD Haematology has joined the YML team as labora

tory director. Dr. Akel came with more than 10 years of technical/academic experience in general lab medicine and additional research experience in field of stem cells and cancer biology from the United Sates National Cancer Institute.Currently Dr. Akel is the CEO of the corporate and holding a position of Laboratory/scientific Director of the Saint Louis Cord Blood bank and cell therapy Laboratories, MO, USA. Over time, The YML has positioned itself among the best diagnostic labs in Jordan, extended the testing menu, provided a referral service to other labs, gained clients trust, and recognized by health professionals for its mission, quality results and affordable services.
