Just because you have low estrogen doesn’t mean you can’t be estrogen dominant! ⚖️

Did you know that your blood test results might not always reveal what’s really going on with your hormones? While blood tests can be a useful tool, they don’t always give the full picture of what’s happening in your body.

Here’s why:

🔎 1. Timing Is Everything
Hormones fluctuate throughout the day and month, which means the timing of your test matters. For example, estrogen and progesterone levels vary depending on where you are in your menstrual cycle. If your test is done at the wrong time, it might not capture the peak or dip in your hormone levels.

🧠 2. Symptoms Don’t Always Match Blood Levels
You could have hormonal imbalances but still show “normal” levels on your test. Blood tests typically measure only one point in time, while your hormones might be fluctuating too much for that snapshot to reveal imbalances that are affecting your mood, sleep, or weight.

🔄 3. How Your Body Metabolizes Hormones
The way your body processes and detoxes hormones can influence the results. Sometimes, your body may not be eliminating excess hormones (like estrogen) properly, which can cause imbalances even if blood levels look fine.

💪 4. The Interplay of Multiple Hormones
It’s not just about one hormone. For example, the relationship between estrogen, progesterone, cortisol, and thyroid hormones plays a significant role in your health. One imbalance might affect another, creating symptoms even when tests come back normal for individual hormones.

🧑‍⚕️ 5. Blood Tests Aren’t Always Comprehensive
Standard blood panels often don’t check for all the hormones that could be affecting your health. Your thyroid, adrenals, and s*x hormones all play different roles, and many times, only a few are included in routine tests. Specialized hormone testing can give you more insight.

So how can you know?
A more detailed assessment with symptom tracking could reveal what’s really going on. Or you can do the DUTCH testing (not available everywhere at the moment). Good news? When you balance your hormones naturally, you balance all of them together!
