(IOS設立目的)
近年、包括的歯科治療に矯正治療は無くてはならない治療となり、急速に矯正治療の存在感が増して来ている。一方、２０１７年のアメリカ・ヨーロッパ新歯周病分類において咬合性外傷に、矯正移動が含まれ、歯周組織に配慮しない矯正治療は、今後大きなリスクを持つ可能性が予想される。しかしながら、矯正治療と歯周治療や矯正治療と歯内療法、矯正治療と補綴治療の関係性が及ぼす影響に関しては、いずれのテーマにおいても世界的に学術論文が十分に報告されていない。 そこで、IOSにおいては、本分野を新たな歯科専門分野として“包括的矯正歯科”と定義し、矯正専門医ならび他分野の歯科医師・GPが加わり同分野の学術的コンセンサスを世界に先駆けて確立して行く事を目指す。
(IOSミッション)
１） 同分野の臨床研究グループを組織し国際学会および学術雑誌にて積極的に発表する
２） 国内外の関連分野の臨床家と討論できる場を企画し矯正専門医・GP・他分野の専門医が共に情報共有できる場を提供する
３） 一般の人々へ矯正治療ならびに包括的矯正治療に関する最新かつ医学的に正しい知識を提供する

Purpose of establishing
IOS In recent years, orthodontic treatment has become an indispensable treatment for interdisciplinary dental treatment, and the presence of orthodontic treatment is rapidly increasing. On the other hand, occlusal trauma in the United States and Europe new periodontal disease classification in 2017 includes orthodontic movement and orthodontic treatment which does not consider periodontal tissue is expected to have a significant risk in the future. However, about the influence of the relationship between orthodontic treatment, periodontal treatment, endodontic treatment, and prosthetic treatment, no scientific article has been reported sufficiently in global. Therefore, in IOS, this field is defined as “Interdisciplinary Orthodontics " as a new dental specialty field. We will establish academic consensus together with the orthodontist, general practice dentist, and other specialists first in the world.
IOS Mission
1) Organize a clinical research group in this field and actively present at international conferences and academic journals
2)Hold regular academic meetings to share knowledge.
3) Provide the public with up-to-date and medically correct knowledge of orthodontic treatment as well as interdisciplinary orthodontic treatment.
