Prior to qualifying as a therapist, I taught in Further Education for 20 years.

All clients are offered an initial consultation when we will discuss needs and requirements before moving forward.

Sometimes we don’t know what is making us unhappy and often don’t have time in our busy lives to address things which are slowing us down or stopping us living life to the full. We continue to carry problems and self-defeating behaviours around with us, when change would make such a difference to our lives.

Counselling and psychotherapy in a safe, non-judgemental environment gives theclient the opportunity to unload negative chatter, to verbalise issues which have been causing tension and unhappiness, sometimes for many years.

Counselling is generally used for issues which are causing problems in daily life and psychotherapy for more deep-rooted issues that may or may not have been identified. These may go back to childhood or involve trauma.

I am an integrative therapist; I use a range of therapies and will be guided by my clients’ needs. I work holistically with clients and believe that our emotional state has a direct relationship with our physical and spiritual health. We will work together to identify and untangle presenting issues and I will support you in identifying strategies to enable you to move forwards in your life.

I have a special interest in working with clients on self-confidence and self-esteem issues.

Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy induces a relaxed state of being which is when a therapist can introduce suggestions which can change behaviours and thought patterns

Hypnotherapy can be used to support clients with smoking cessation, weight loss, phobias, sleep patterns, stress, anxiety, self-confidence and self-esteem and much more. It can be used for short term issues, such as delivering a confident speech at a wedding to long term, more deep-rooted problems.

It is most effective when used in conjunction with counselling/psychotherapy

My counselling therapies include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, (CBT), Transactional Analysis, (TA), Neurolinguistic Programming, (NLP), Gestalt, Rational Emotional Behaviour Therapy, (REBT), and Person Centred Counselling.
