RST(Respiratory Support Team)とは呼吸療法を支援するチームという意味です。RRS(Rapid Response System)とは「入院患者様の状態が悪化する前、病態の早期に治療介入し、重症化させないことを目的としたシステム」ということになります。

In memory of Professor Rinaldo Bellomo.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Professor Rinaldo Bellomo, a true pioneer in intensive care and critical care nephrology.

A brilliant researcher, mentor, and clinician, he shaped the careers of generations of intensivists and profoundly influenced our field. Honoured as an Officer of the Order of Australia in 2018, his legacy spans continents and specialities.

Beyond his achievements, he will be remembered for his generosity, warmth, and the kindness he showed to all who knew him.

Our thoughts are with his loved ones and the global intensive care community mourning this immense loss.

PSVの同調性を高めるには、rise timeとtermination criteriaを適正にすることも重要だ。

PSVは、patient triggerd, pressure limited, flow cycle。かつて（10年以上前？）は人工呼吸器の機種によって、rise timeは固定のものもあった。最近はほとんど可変なのではないか。termination criteria（つまりcycle variable）は今も様々かもしれない。使用している機種の機能を確認することは重要だ。

"VCV"や"PCV"の"C"＝controlの日本語訳は「制御」である。因みに「制御」と「調節」は日本語としても意味が違う。そして「強制」とも意味が違う。長いこと用語が混乱したままになっている。

人工呼吸器の設定としての強制換気回数は"RR (respiratory rate)"ではなく"f (frequency)"と表記するべきでは？　機械が呼吸するわけではない。
