手話を使うろう者の日常や家族との会話、暮らしの風景

今回は、杉並区にゆかりのある方々のホームビデオを通して、ろう者の自然な生活文化を映し出す、特別な上映イベントを開催します。この企画は、めとてラボの活動のひとつ「アーカイブプロジェクト」との連携によって実現しました。本プロジェクトでは『手話から生まれる自然な生活文化の保存』をテーマに、ろう者の暮らしや文化をどのように未来へと伝えていくか、リサーチや対話を重ねてきました。当日は、貴重なホームビデオ映像を上映するだけでなく、実際に映像に登場するご本人をゲストにお迎えし、参加者と共に映像を見ながら、当時の思いや背景を語り合います。これまでなかなか見えてこなかった、ろう者の暮らしのリアルを感じてみませんか？lab

◾️Metote Lab
Come and witness the daily lives of Deaf individuals,
their conversations with family, and scenes of their lives, all expressed through sign language.

This special screening event will showcase the natural living culture of Deaf individuals through home videos from people with ties to Suginami Ward. This project is a collaboration with Metote Lab's "Archive Project," which aims to preserve the natural living culture born from sign language. Through extensive research and dialogue, we've explored how to pass down Deaf lives and culture to future generations. On the day of the event, we won't just be showing rare home videos; we'll also welcome the individuals featured in the videos as guests. Together with the audience, we'll watch the footage and share memories and the background of those moments. Would you like to experience the often unseen reality of Deaf life?

ろう者俳優の歩みと可能性を語るパネルディスカッションを開催！

1950年に深川勝三がろう唖劇団「東扇座」を旗揚げし、1971年には米内山明宏が「日本ろう者劇団」を創立するなど、手話演劇は盛んに行われてきた。一方、聴者の世界における映画や演劇の世界では長らく聴者がろう者役を演じるのが主流だった。1999年、忍足亜希子が映画『アイ・ラヴ・ユー』で主演し、ろう者俳優として注目された。演劇では大橋弘枝が『小さき神の作りし子ら』で主役を務め、読売演劇大賞優秀女優賞を受賞した。その後、一時的にろう者俳優の活躍は減少したが、2022年には砂田アトムが映画『LOVE LIFE』で助演し、再び注目を集めている。今回のトークでは歴史を歩んだ俳優たちと若手俳優たちを迎え、ろう者による俳優の可能性を語る。

🙌 Panel Discussion | Deaf Actors in Japan - Present and Future | Free (Tickets at the door)

A panel discussion exploring the journey and future potential of Deaf actors.

Sign language theater has a rich history in Japan, with Katsuzo Fukagawa establishing the Deaf Theater "Tosenza" in 1950 and Akihiro Yoneuchiyama founding the "Japan Deaf Theatre" in 1971. However, in mainstream film and theater for hearing audiences, it was long common for hearing actors to portray Deaf characters.
In 1999, Akiko Oshidari gained prominence as the first Deaf lead actress in the Japanese film "I Love You". In theater, Hiroe Ohashi starred in "Children of a Lesser God" and received the Yomiuri Theater Award for Best Actress.
After a period of decreased activity for Deaf actors, Atom Sunada has once again drawn attention with his supporting role in the 2022 film "LOVE LIFE".
This panel discussion brings together actors who have shaped history and young actors who will lead the future, to discuss the possibilities for Deaf actors.
