Bow | Dhanurasana | Dhanurāsana V2 | धनुरासन
To be able to perform this pose in full, it is important to develop sufficient prerequisites in shoulder, spine & hip mobility, strength & balance.
Forcing the pose without these prerequisites can lead to injury. Overdependence on props can also impede progress and skill development. Therefore, it's important to learn to listen to your body and adjust the practice intensity based on how you feel.
At YogaJaya, we believe that extreme pose variations are not the ultimate goal of yoga. However, becoming aware of one's limitations and working towards overcoming them aligns with yoga's original concept.
Our signature method, practiced by thousands of students in Japan and worldwide for two decades, offers a safe way to develop prerequisites and enhance body awareness at any level of health. It has helped many students, including this practitioner and long-time senior YogaJaya teacher Junko Shimada, achieve and sustain this level of practice safely.
