✨DID YOU KNOW?: Fluoride Edition✨
🪥 Brush Twice Daily with Fluoride Toothpaste🪥
-Brushing twice a day with fluoride toothpaste significantly reduces the risk of dental caries (tooth decay), because fluoride strengthens enamel, inhibits demineralization, and enhances remineralization of teeth.
-Use age-appropriate amounts of fluoridated toothpaste:
• Smear/rice-sized for children < 3 years
• Pea-sized for children 3–6 years
-Even if toothpaste is swallowed in tiny amounts at very young ages, the small recommended doses are considered safe when used properly.
-Community water fluoridation is one of the most effective public health measures to reduce tooth decay in children, lowering caries prevalence at the population level.
