Dangerous Complications of Gastroduodenal Ulcer
Gastrointestinal bleeding
This is the most common complication, about 15-20% of peptic ulcer patients have one or more bleeding episodes. Often recognized by symptoms such as patients may vomit blood or associated with black stools, blue skin, pale mucous membranes, rapid pulse, and low blood pressure.
Stomach perforation
Ulcers pe*****te deep into the stomach or duodenal wall causing perforation, the patient may experience severe pain. More men than women suffer from drinking habits.
pyloric stenosis
Most common when the ulcer is located near the pylorus. Symptoms: heaviness in the stomach after eating, vomiting food from the previous days, upset stomach when hungry, thin body, and signs of dehydration.ư
Pyloric stenosis can be functional stenosis due to inflammation, edema, spasm at the site of the pyloric muscle, or physical stenosis due to cancer, large duodenal ulcer, scleroderma, etc.

The rate of secondary cancer after an ulcer is 5-10%, and ulcer time lasts >10 years. Stomach ulcer is a benign disease at first, but they can lead to extremely dangerous stomach cancer complications. Every year around the world, 870,000 new cases and 650,000 people die from stomach cancer. Stomach cancer is the second most common cancer in Vietnam, after lung cancer in men and breast cancer in women.
