An Irish pub has introduced a 'Covid-19 jar' to fine people who talk about the virus on the premises.

Managers of The Alt Bar in Killea, Co Donegal were so fed up with the constant chat about the virus that they decided to put an end to it and now charge customers €2 every time they mention Covid-19.

The jar was only introduced on Friday night by Christopher Moore and Conor McDevitt but already has amassed €110 which will all go to the Donegal Hospice.

We asked readers who were vaccinated at pharmacies if they impulsively treated themselves before they left. Here is one story.

What items did you buy during your observation period?

As a twist on this question, I did not buy something for myself in the moment but bought a big pile of gourmet chocolate bars for the staff giving shots. I tied the pile in a big Aqua ribbon and gave it to the man who administered my shot. I asked him to share it with the others.

Why did you buy these items?

Everyone working to vaccinate our community is a hero. I’m grateful for what they do and what they put up with!

Incentives for COVID Vaccinations:

As U.S. vaccinations slump, CVS offers cruises, money and a Super Bowl trip to get a shot.

CVS had joined with other companies to offer prizes to people who get a shot at one of its pharmacies.

Among the incentives: Weeklong Norwegian Cruises, $100 dates sponsored by the dating app Hinge and a trip to Super Bowl LVI next year.

In Kerala, a southern Indian state, local officials have succeeded where the national government has failed in providing relief to coronavirus victims.

Although deaths are rising in Kerala, the state has consistently better managed the crisis than India as a whole. Throughout the pandemic, it has had more doctors, more testing and five times more hospital beds than the national average. Now, its vaccination rate is nearly double the national average of 3 percent.

As COVID-19 restrictions ease around the world, governments are rushing to produce digital and old-fashioned documents to confirm vaccination, permit traveling inside and outside borders and to enable entry to public places.

One thing is for sure: Vaccine passports are here and for now they appear as the only way to revive international travel and to open other activities including mass-attendance events.

In the UK, NHS App will be used as a COVID-19 passport from 17 May.
