We make significant contributions to care & control of cancer and other non-communicable diseases by Sickle Cell Disease.

International Cancer Institute (ICI), a non-profit organization based in Eldoret, Kenya, is dedicated to advancing cancer care, education, and research across sub-Saharan Africa. Through dynamic partnerships with governments, academic institutions, and NGOs, ICI strengthens early detection, ensures optimal treatment, and promotes data-driven care for breast, cervical, prostate, colorectal, esophageal, other solid cancers and hematologic conditions i.e. Screening more than 30,000 women annually, ICI leverages digital pathology, telemedicine, and
clinical trials to improve outcomes. Committed to training the next generation of multi-disciplinary cancer specialists and fostering community outreach, ICI drives impactful and equitable cancer care and research, transforming lives across the region. Mission Statement:

The National Cancer Institute of Kenya (NCI) hosted the 2nd National Cancer Summit 2025 from July 27th to 30th, 2025. During the summit, our CEO & PI, Prof. Chite Asirwa, MD, FASCO, received NCI's Excellence in Research, Training, and Care Award for his contributions to cancer control, training, and research in Kenya and the region. International Cancer Institute, with the leadership of Prof. Chite, is always committed to promoting equity, improving outcomes, and supporting patients and communities in their cancer care continuum — prevention, screening, early detection, diagnosis, treatment, palliative care, and research.

Kabarak University, in partnership with International Cancer Institute , held the International Research Conference for the School of Pharmacy on 18th and 19th September 2025. The conference featured Prof. Mansoor Sale, founding chair of the Department of Hematology-Oncology at Aga Khan University , as the keynote speaker and host of other speakers and panelists. ICI is committed to research and excited about contributing to the next generation of researchers. Our CEO, Prof. Chite Asirwa, MD, FASCO, and Director, Dr. David Muyodi, were also in attendance.
