How many times have you sat down to watch the news, only to feel that familiar knot in your stomach?

Another story of corruption, another life lost to homicide or femicide, another system failing those who need it most. It’s exhausting, isn’t it?

An advantage for you as a Counselor is that you're equipped to self-regulate.

How about your clients?

News isn’t just headlines—it’s real experiences that shape how your clients think, speak, and react.

They reinforce patterns of fear, anger, and helplessness, both for us and for the clients we serve.

On the 30th September 2025, from 6:30pm EAT on Zoom, we'll be having a Lifelong Learning session on Complex Trauma.

Still on Su***de Prevention Awareness Month: Let's talk about something important

When we think about workplace mental health, our first thought is rightly for our people.

But the truth is, when our teams are struggling silently, the entire business feels the impact—through lost productivity, higher turnover, and significant risk.

The good news? You don't have to have all the answers.

You just need to know where to start.

Proactive support is one of the most powerful investments you can make in your company's future.

It’s about building a resilient, thriving culture where everyone can do their best work.

If you're looking at these numbers and feeling overwhelmed, we're here to help.

We partner with leaders to build proactive, practical mental health strategies that protect your people and your bottom line.

We have a few spots available this month for a Mental Health First Aid training.

It's a chance to ask questions and explore what a supportive strategy could look like for your unique team.

Ready to move from concern to action?

As a psychologist, you are taught the basics of grief: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, acceptance.

In the therapy room however, every client's story is different.

Some are complicated, multilayered, and traumatic, and it can feel overwhelming to hold space for them every single day.

That’s why we created our upcoming Lifelong Learning Webinar: Emotional Recovery.

You’ll leave with:
✅ Practical, evidence-based tools for grief interventions
✅ Confidence in working with complex grief cases
✅ Techniques to support your own emotional resilience as a practitioner

Su***de Prevention Awareness Month is a sobering reminder that mental health is not separate from the pressures of our professional and economic lives.

In Kenya, factors like economic and political uncertainty, job insecurity, and financial hardship are significant contributors to the sense of hopelessness that can lead to crisis.

This shows a critical role for the workplace: to be a front line of defense.

Companies are not just employees; they are communities.

By proactively creating supportive environments, we can help carry the weight that many employees bear alone.

At Hopewell Firm, we believe effective prevention means integrating mental health support with strategies that address socio-economic stressors.

It's about building systems—both in our communities and our companies—where people feel safe, supported, and have access to resources.

This month, we challenge business leaders to ask:
How can we better prioritize the holistic well-being of our teams?

Yesterday was fantastic!

The webinar was an intimate discussion on the emotional state of the country and for the individuals on the call.

Mental Health professionals, Corporate employees, and individuals who felt the waves of emotions on a personal level shared their experiences, struggles, and coping mechanisms as we held space for each other to process.

For Counselors specifically, it was a space to learn how to affirm your clients, set boundaries, and transform Anger into Agency.

Thank you so much Muindi Serah for facilitating this Webinar.

We know you missed the first one,but we are doing a series on Emotional Recovery and invite you to register.

The next one will be in August on Grief and Loss and then we will unpack Complex Trauma in September.

We look forward to learning with you in this Emotional Recovery Series!

A human resource professional plays an integral role in keeping things together.

When decisions need to be made in terms of strategy, talent retention, and employee engagement, they are the go-to person.

In some cases, they are treated as the black sheep of the company.

Very few care about the person behind the title.

As an HR, does anyone check on your mental health?

What about your finances? What support might you need to stay on track?

This webinar is the start of this conversation for you as a Human Resource Professional, and for companies too.

Our Story

She walked into her office amidst the stares of her colleagues. "I must be looking really great," she thought to herself. Several minutes later, the HR Manager walked in and told her she was fired as the company was downsizing. " How will I manage, where will I get the money to clear my car loan, what will my children eat now that my husband is also out of a job?" she asked herself as the HR Manager talked on. With all these unanswered questions in mind, she packed her laptop back into her bag and walked out of her office. That is how life can change! We are here to help you cope and regain the fulfillment your life had. To help you heal, feel restored and flourish beyond expectation.

HIS STORY

“My wife is packing her bags and wants to leave. She got wind of my affair and I have no idea what to do or say to get her to stay.” He said almost sobbing.

It’s been two months now and all I can think of is how to get her back. She won’t pick my calls or respond to any of my messages. This is getting frustrating....
