Today, our C.E.O Bancy Mutuah and KSB Executive Director officially opened our Vision Centre, which features an optical shop where patients can now access spectacles, medical sunglasses, and white canes at subsidised and pocket friendly prices.
This journey began by Hon. Cecily Mbarire, EGH, seeking partnerships, and the dream has finally come to fruition through the combined efforts of the hospital management and the unwavering support of the County Department of Health, under the leadership of CEC Jamal Runyenje Ogw ,who championed the signing of a memorandum with our partners.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our partners, the Fred Hollows Foundation & the Kenya Society for the Blind, Christian Blind Mission (CBM),whose contributions have been instrumental in making this life changing initiative a reality. Their support has positioned our hospital as the leading regional hub for vision care services, and the only government facility in the region offering such comprehensive support to patients.
Finally, to our dedicated Eye Unit team, we say a big thank you for your commitment to ensuring that patients with visual challenges leave with renewed hope and brighter smiles.

We are proudly the best hospital in the region. Kudos to all our doctors and staff that make it possible.

Today marked a historic milestone as we officially opened our High Dependency Unit (HDU),a dream that has been eight years in the making.
The new unit with a six bed capacity (4 for adults and 2 for children), is set to transform the level of critical care we provide to our patients. It will also bridge the gap between the ICU and the general wards, offering a much needed intermediate level of care for patients on their journey to full recovery.

The process of equipping the unit with state of the art technology is already underway, ensuring that our patients receive the highest standard of care.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the County Government of Embu under the visionary leadership of Hon. Cecily Mbarire, EGH for her steadfast support in turning this long awaited dream into reality. We also recognize the Department of Health under the leadership of health CEC Jamal Runyenje for their unwavering commitment, the hospital management for the support and in a very special way, we celebrate our incredible ICU team whose dedication, skill, and compassion continue to save and transform lives every day.

In preparation for the upcoming renovation and upgrade of the Occupational Therapy Block, where children with physical, sensory or cognitive problems are able to participate in different meaningful activities, we had the privilege of hosting the contractor who will be in charge of the project. This important initiative is being facilitated by the Access Project and implemented through APDK in collaboration with the Embu County Government department of health.

We are confident that once completed, the project will create a more inclusive, supportive, and enabling environment for children to access quality therapy services and thrive.

PUBLIC NOTICE- SHARE WIDELY

We have a patient by the name of Ezekiel (not certain if this is his real name) who has been admitted at our hospital for some time now. He was a victim of a road accident and was brought in by well wishers with no form of identification.
He is not mentally stable but has mentioned that he comes from Machakos County.

Through the directive by H.E. Governor Cecily Mbarire to waive medical bills, his account has been cleared and he is now ready for discharge. Unfortunately, his relatives remain unknown to us.

We kindly appeal to the public, if anyone recognises him or has information about his family, please visit Embu Level 5 Hospital for confirmation and to facilitate his collection.
Your support will help reunite him with his loved ones.
