πŸ“Œ Why Many People With Addiction Say β€œI Can Stop Anytime”

πŸ’¬ One of the most common phrases families hear from someone struggling with addiction is:

"I can stop anytime I want."

In reality, addiction changes the brain’s reward system, making it extremely difficult to quit without support.

Many individuals genuinely believe they can stop, but when they try, cravings and withdrawal symptoms make it difficult.

This is why professional treatment can be life-changing.

Rehabilitation programs help individuals:
β€’ Understand addiction
β€’ Manage cravings
β€’ Develop healthy coping strategies
β€’ Rebuild their lives

At Asumbi Treatment Centre, we provide structured treatment programs that guide individuals toward lasting recovery.

Addiction does not have to define someone’s future.

πŸ“’ If someone you love is struggling to quit on their own, professional help may be the next step.

πŸ’ Why do you think people find it difficult to admit they need help?

Overview

Asumbi Treatment Centre (A.T.C) is a public health rehabilitation care centre established under Caritas Kenya, Catholic Diocese of Homa-Bay. It is the oldest rehabilitation centre in South Saharan Africa established in 1988 by Turberg Brothers. A.T.C handles all forms of chemical dependency cases. The success rate is 65% -of those who enroll in the program and finish successfully without using drugs / alcohol in the centre.

Our Vision:- To realize self-fulfillment and social harmony for all the community members through sharing and caring for each other.

Our Mission:- To continue reaching out to the substance users to create awareness, treatment and rehabilitation where need be and re-integrate them to their communities for a healthy nation.

Our Goal :- The primary goal is to foster personal growth towards self- fulfillment of the individual client through social learning in a community of concerned people working together to help themselves and each other. The treatment goal of the addicted person has to learn to function as a sick person and has to be taught step by step, how to function initially as a recovering person and finally as well person.
