We are attending the CSOs Assessment Workshop on Digital Tools today — a powerful space focused on building the capacity of local civil society organizations in the fight against corruption.

This initiative is co-funded by the European Union in Kenya , Transparency International Kenya, Tisa Kenya ,and Konrad Adenauer Stiftung Kenya ,and is part of a broader mission to empower grassroots actors with the tools they need to enhance transparency and accountability.

I’m honored to represent Kisanet, a vibrant civil society network in Kiambu County, and Ndereti-Fm , our community radio station amplifying voices and stories from the ground. Together, we’re learning how to leverage technology in advocacy, civic engagement, and oversight.

Today, we had the privilege of attending a consultative forum for Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), organized by the Institute for Development Studies (IDS) at the University of Nairobi, in collaboration with Budget Connect Development Institute, an international organization based in Nigeria.

The forum provided a crucial platform to engage in meaningful dialogue around the challenges facing civil society in Kenya, ranging from policy constraints to funding sustainability and civic space dynamics. It was inspiring to connect with fellow changemakers, researchers, and advocates committed to strengthening the role of CSOs in driving social transformation.

Youth training and empowerment network Had an incredible time at the youth concert organized by Bunge Mashinani Initiative in Gachie, Kiambaa, Kiambu County.

The event sparked an important conversation on anti-corruption and the vital role of youth engagement in meaningful participation in governance processes. It was inspiring to see so many young voices coming together, sharing ideas, and pushing for change.

We’re proud to be part of this movement towards a brighter, more transparent future. Let’s continue advocating for a corruption-free society and make sure our voices are heard in shaping the future! Ndereti-Fm had the privilege of attending the launch of The Institute of Social Accountability Tisa Kenya strategic plan, a significant step forward in driving accountability and citizen engagement across the country. TISA has been instrumental in shaping key policies like the PMF Act and NG-CDF accountability, ensuring that transparency and good governance remain a priority in our nation's development.

Their efforts have also been crucial in building capacity within our organization and network across Kiambu County like Bunge Mashinani Initiative Kiambu County Empowerment Network-Kcen-Cso Network Kisanet and empowering communities with the tools they need to hold public institutions accountable.

The event was nothing short of glamorous, featuring the unveiling of TISA’s new logo, symbolizing a new chapter in their impactful work. We are excited to continue our collaboration and support TISA’s mission of fostering a more accountable and inclusive society. The National Assembly is calling for public input on the Constitution of Kenya (Amendment) Bill (National Assembly Bill No. 4 of 2025).

The Bill seeks to amend the Constitution to entrench the following funds in the Constitution:

✅ NG-CDF
✅ Senate Oversight Fund
✅ National Government Affirmative Action Fund

Excited to be attending a training on Local Media in Investigative Journalism focused on generating evidence of budgeted corruption. This valuable program, facilitated by the incredible -Allan namu , is organized by Transparency International , Konrad Adenauer Stiftung Kenya , and the European Union.

The training will equip us with tools to drive change and ensure accountability in public finances. I look forward to the insightful roundtable discussions and to connecting with like-minded professionals who are passionate about promoting transparency and good governance.

We had the privilege of participating in the Tupigane Na Ufisadi (TUNU) project, aimed at strengthening the capabilities of local civil society organizations to effectively combat corruption.

Through collaborative efforts, we focused on empowering communities, building transparency, and ensuring that justice prevails. It's inspiring to be part of such a vital initiative, contributing to a future where corruption has no place in our societies.

Let’s continue pushing for accountability, fairness, and integrity. Together, we can create lasting change!

Today, the Kiambu County Empowerment Network-Kcen-Cso Network (KCEN) came together for an important session, where we focused on aligning our framework and validating key policy documents. As we approach the end of the project, it was a pivotal moment for us as we work towards strengthening our collective impact.

Together, as CSOs from Kiambu, we are committed to creating lasting positive change in our communities. Today’s discussions were a crucial step in ensuring that our policies and frameworks truly reflect our mission of empowering local communities.
