LUO HISTORY
1. Min Omolo ka Nyunja...
she hailed from Seme. She was notorious for walking late in the night; ungodly hours.

was from Watombori behind Ladhri Awasi. He was a glutton who died after overeating.
3. Tawo wuon Ogot...
was from Alego Mur. He was a very strong man who killed an elephant with a rungu.
4. Kech ka Majuala.
He was from Apondo Wawidhi, Nyando. He was a very strong muscular man who carried his family in a granary on his head all the way to Tanganyika.
5. Luanda Magere.
He was born in Sidho but his remains lie within the Wangoye clan in the present Masogo Nyang'oma Ward of Muhoroni. His strength was in his shadow. To reach him, alight at Nyadundo Primary School along the Awasi-Nandi highway.
6. Gor K'Ogada aka Gor Mahia.
He was born in Kanyamwa, Ndhiwa in Homa Bay. He was a wise man with mystical powers.
7. Okore wuon Ogonda.
He was born in Kisumo Korando near the Kisumu International Airport. He was a brave warrior who never relented in action in the battlefield. He was affectionately known as Okore Chieng' Ralala wuod Ogonda (The Unrelenting Sweltering Sun). His warrior cousin was Otiende Raluoch (Foggy)...he covered the battlefield like fog; subduing opponents mercilessly. Their descendants still exist around Tieng're.
8. Jaramogi Oginga Odinga.
He was born in Sakwa. His mother was born in Kagwa Uyoma. His maternal uncle was called Wanjare aka Wanjare A Kibul. Jaramogi was the man who unified the Luo as a community.
9. Ker Paulo Mbuya, wuon Akoko
was born in Karachuonyo. He translated the Holy Bible into DhoLuo. He also served as the Ker of the Luo community under the Luo Union. He was affectionately known as Olwal Ja Nyakongo (Silwal being brown...he had a light complexion).
10. Nyamgondho Wuod Ombare.
The paragon of false pride and pomp. He was born in Nyandiwa, Gwasi.He despised his wife and lost all his wealth.
