This year, we partnered with SKY Girls and a dedicated gynecologist to reach and empower teen moms with life-changing information on contraceptives. 🌍✨
📌 Why it matters:

Teen moms are among the most vulnerable, often lacking access to accurate SRHR information.

With the right knowledge, they can prevent unplanned pregnancies, continue education, and build brighter futures.

🚀 Our commitment is to expand these safe learning spaces to reach more girls in underserved communities. But we can’t do it alone.

Tiko Club Session: Understanding SGBV
In a Tiko Club class, members took part in an important discussion on Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV). They explored the different forms it can take, how to recognize abuse, and the importance of speaking out.

The session also highlighted where to seek help and reinforced the need to build safe, respectful, and supportive communities. 💜 Together, we’re empowering youth with the knowledge to stand against violence and become advocates for change.

This year, we are intentional about building teen moms with practical skills that empower them to earn, grow, and shine. 🌸✨

Our Tiko Club members came together for their second learning session, diving into the important topic of Menstrual Hygiene and Understanding My Reproductive Cycle.

Through interactive discussions, the young members gained knowledge on menstrual health, learned how to track their cycles, and explored healthy practices that promote dignity and confidence. 💜✨

💪🏽 Empowering Teen Mums: From Ideas to Action!
This week, our determined teen mums took a bold step toward financial independence! After sharing their business ideas and completing a market survey, they have now formed a Voluntary Saving and Loaning Association (VSLA) to support their entrepreneurial journey.

Through this self-managed group, they’ll save part of their business income, access small loans, and meet weekly to grow together—building not just businesses, but a strong foundation of support, confidence, and resilience.

Breaking the Stigma, One Conversation at a Time!

On Friday, we partnered with ZanaAfrica to host a session for girls and women (ages 12–49) focused on understanding menstruation and menstrual disorders. Through open dialogue, shared experiences, and education, we empowered women to take charge of their menstrual health.

To close the session, participants each received a pack of sanitary pads to support their journey with dignity and care.

Last Friday, we had the pleasure of welcoming students from George Washington University to our AWOCHE Foundation community in Kibera. Together, we explored our impactful programs and shared heartfelt stories of transformation among women, youth, and teen mums.

Our visitors engaged directly with beneficiaries, learned about our mentorship initiatives, and exchanged ideas on how to drive positive change. It was a day of learning, inspiration, and building bridges across continents!
