How does salt raise your blood pressure?

Salt (Sodium chloride) causes the body to retain water. High intake of salt leads to increase in arterial blood pressure, which stiffens and narrows the blood vessels.

Blood and oxygen flow to key organs then decreases. So the heart tries harder to pump blood throughout the body, which further increases blood pressure.

If you already have high blood pressure, high salt intake will raise it further, and may interfere with any blood pressure medication you may be taking making them not work as well as they should.

Cutting down on salt is one of the simplest ways to lower your blood pressure.

OSTEOARTHRITIS:

4. Over time, the cartilage in your joints, especially in your knees, can begin to wear. This is the beginning of osteoarthritis.

Osteoarthritis is a common joint disorder characterized by the degeneration of joint cartilage and the underlying bone. It primarily affects weight-bearing joints like the knees, hips, and spine, but it can occur in other joints as well.

Causes:

5. Gender:
Osteoarthritis is more common in women, especially after menopause.

6. Joint Overuse:
Repetitive use of a joint due to occupation or sports can contribute to the development of osteoarthritis.

7. Other Health Conditions:
Certain medical conditions, such as rheumatoid arthritis or metabolic disorders, can increase the risk of osteoarthritis.
