What do you see right infront of you? Is that what it is or is that what you have been told it is?
To the person who perceive flowers as a sign of love, when given flowers as a gift they feel loved. To another the same flowers triggers hurt and pain because their Ex who they loved "Hadi wanajimalizia" cheated on them dangerously and so flowers remind them of that pain and betrayal. So my question is are the feelings of love or hurt coming from the flowers or the individual perception and meaning of what flowers mean to them? You will agree with me that perception shapes reality. Perceptions are socially constructed, they are passed down to us socially. Which then means that society shapes our reality and effects from experiences until we intentionally decide to shape our reality by changing the meanings, definitions, beliefs, and perceptions to situations and experiences in life. Perception is the reality, how you perceive it determines the effect you get from it. For instance if you perceive ending of a relationship as a hurt break, it will definitely break and hurt you, if you perceive it as a learning and growth experience you grow and learn. All life experiences are neutral, meaningless and effectless, your perception of them shapes how they will affect you. When you call a 2 month old toddler useless, good for nothing or foolish, the toddler will either smile or cry based on the energy you deliver the words. If you say those words with a smile, the child will smile back at you. Why because the child doesn't know the meaning of the words. The meaning we attach to experiences creates the effects we get from them. Perception and meaning are subject to change because one experience can affect two people totally differently, same experience different effects based on individual perception. Choose to see it in your favor, don't perceive it in favor.
