Did you know that catching some cancers early can improve survival rates by up to 95%? That is not just a number, it is a second chance, a longer tomorrow, and more moments with the people you love.

At Aga Khan Hospital, Kisumu, we believe access to screening should never be out of reach. That is why, from 1st to October 31st, 2025, we are offering a 40% discount on a wide range of cancer screenings and consultations with our oncology specialists.

The tests include mammograms, Pap smears, HPV tests, PSA tests, stool occult blood tests, and breast ultrasounds. Each one plays a vital role in helping detect cancer early, when treatment works best.

Our Outreach Medical Centres across Western Kenya are part of this initiative too. You’ll find these services in Kakamega, Bungoma, Kitale, Busia, Kapsabet, Kericho, Kisii, Homabay, Eldoret, Migori, and Kimilili.

If this feels like the nudge you needed to prioritize your health, now is the time. Call 0722 203 622 or 0733 637 566 to book your screening.

At Aga Khan Hospital, Kisumu, growth is about raising the bar in how safe, consistent, and reliable healthcare feels for every patient who walks through our doors. That’s why we’ve already earned ISO 9001:2015 certification, ISO 15189:2022 accreditation for our labs, and SafeCare Level 5.

This week, we took another big step on our JCIA journey. Our teams carried out an internal audit across departments—a deep check-in on how we’re doing and where we can sharpen up. In a special touch, we wrapped our auditors in Maasai shukas, a symbol of watchmen standing guard, ensuring every department is ready for the road ahead.

It’s a long journey, but every audit, every improvement, and every detail counts. And we’re excited to keep sharing that progress with you.

It was an honor to share this memorable occasion with our CEO, Jane Wanyama, Medical Director Dr. Simon Onsongo, and Head of Nursing Practice, Lucy Adhiambo.

About two months ago, Mr. Francis Owiti felt a sudden snap in his left elbow while doing chores at home. At first, he ignored the discomfort, but with time the pain worsened, his arm began to swell, and lifting or rotating it became increasingly difficult.

He came to The Aga Khan Hospital, Kisumu, where an X-ray showed everything was normal. However, his condition worsened after a week, and he sought the opinion of Dr. Mohammed Rafique, Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon, who ordered an MRI. The scan revealed a rupture of the distal biceps tendon.

After discussion, surgery was performed through a small incision using the end-to-end repair technique to reattach the tendon. Mr. Francis is now recovering well.
