When we as citizens pay taxes to a government, we are not simply supporting some external entity. We are also “formalizing our obligations to each other as members of an ‘imagined community, oneness and nation determine to be independent. In the very real sense, we are building and validating our own sense of nationhood. This consider a ritual of citizenship. 🏛️
