Endo Sisters East Africa Foundation

Endo Sisters East Africa Foundation Statistics show that one in ten women suffer from endometriosis. In March 2019, Endo Sisters East Africa Foundation, launched the yellow nails movement. b. c. d. e.

Based in Nairobi and Thika, Endo Sisters EA Foundation has been formed with the vision of promoting early diagnosis and keeping hope alive for endometriosis (endo) warriors and those with associated menstrual disorders. In this respect, the mission of Endo Sisters East Africa Foundation is to educate, share information, collaborate and encourage women living with Endometriosis and other menstrual disorders. The Yellow Nails Movement is a campaign aimed at sensitization and driving participation for endometriosis awareness creation. The movement aims to create a visual identifier for endometriosis through yellow nails and the traditionally known yellow ribbons given that yellow is the global endo colour. The call to action is ‘paint nails yellow’ and upload the said yellow nails photos on social media using . The target audience of this campaign are women and adolescents (teens included) of child bearing age who can either be accessed through salons, nail bars, schools or through social media. Men and Boys can also participate by tagging friends and posting on endometriosis awareness, with the hashtag . This campaign was initially supported by the launch slogan, ‘start the conversation’. As we continue with the conversation in its second year and as a reflection of the program work that we are engaged in, our thematic message is ‘Be informed, take action!’

Specifically, it is our hope and prayer that our campaign:

a. Will get women and particularly adolescent girls to seek out more information and early diagnosis. Will cause Endometriosis (and other menstrual disorders) to be recognized and included in the national reproductive agenda and Education Curriculum, in both Kenya and neighboring East African countries. Will help create a framework where accessibility to treatment in terms of subsidized costs and locations will be enhanced. Will help in the management of endometriosis particularly in terms of slowing endometriosis progression and infertility diagnosis. Will extend as a recognized endometriosis awareness identifier throughout Africa and globally. In conclusion, we at Endosisters East Africa Foundation envision a future, where yellow nails will psychologically be associated with endometriosis awareness globally. This Endometriosis Awareness Month, we continue to live out our mission at Endo Sisters East Africa Foundation: to educate, advocate, and encourage women and girls living with endometriosis and related menstrual disorders.

Last week, we had the privilege of joining Healthy Tuesday at KBC for a conversation on "Endometriosis Doesn’t Wait.” The discussion highlighted a simple but urgent truth: early awareness and timely medical attention can make a life-changing difference for women and girls living with endometriosis.

Over the weekend, we also had a meaningful opportunity to engage with parents, discussing menstrual disorders and endometriosis. These conversations are critical because awareness must begin not only with girls themselves, but also with the families and communities that support them.

At Endo Sisters East Africa, we believe that information empowers, conversations break silence, and early knowledge can shorten the long journey many women face before diagnosis. Through media engagements, community outreach, and education initiatives, we continue working to ensure that girls and women across East Africa are informed, supported, and encouraged to seek help early.

Because when it comes to endometriosis, awareness cannot wait.

In our webinar that we held on Saturday, 7th March with Harriet's Botanicals, here are a few nuggets that we got from this clip.
Key Insights:
✅ Adenomyosis vs. Endometriosis: While Adenomyosis is often localized, Endometriosis can be found within the pelvic region or it can be extra pelvic and be found in other parts of the body, making it more complex to manage.
✅ Early Intervention: Spotting hormonal imbalances in girls as young as 14-16 can help rectify issues early through lifestyle, food, and natural support

The take home was that in terms of product choice, what is advised for adenomyosis & endometriosis is the Estrogen Dominance Pack comprising of:
✨ Mosipchot & Arorwet
✨ Vitality Mix
✨ Busarek Ab Lelaitich

The caveat was that these products may be effective in some warriors and be in effective in others. The advise is to start with the 100ml pack just to try it out.
These are supplementary products and it is important to advise your doctor that you are taking them incase of intake of prescription medicine.

Yesterday was IWD and this year's focus resonates with our menstrual disorders education program on enhancing early diagnosis in adolescents for conditions such as endometriosis and adenomyosis. This is with the hope that many girls and women are empowered to take action that will enable them to get a diagnosis sooner rather than later because Endometriosis doesn't wait!

Benefits of Natural Products use for Endometriosis Management

Natural products can offer significant benefits for managing endometriosis symptoms. Here are some of the key advantages of using natural remedies:

1. Anti-inflammatory properties: Natural products like turmeric, ginger, and omega-3 fatty acids can help reduce inflammation, which is often a contributor to endometriosis pain and discomfort.

2. Support for hormonal balance: Nutrients such as B vitamins, zinc, and magnesium can help maintain hormonal balance, which is crucial for managing endometriosis.

3. Pain relief: Curcumin, omega-3 fatty acids, and other natural compounds have been shown to provide pain relief and support overall health, making them valuable for endometriosis management.

4. Stress management: Mind-body practices and stress-reduction techniques can help manage stress, which can exacerbate endometriosis symptoms.

It's important to note that while natural products can be beneficial, they should be used in conjunction with conventional treatments and under the guidance of a healthcare provider. Always consult with a healthcare professional to determine the most appropriate treatment plan for your individual needs.

Endometriosis is a complex, full-body disease. While surgery and medicine are crucial, many Warriors find that a multidisciplinary approach offers the most relief for daily symptoms.

From Acupuncture (which helps release natural pain-relieving endorphins) to Pelvic Floor Therapy and Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS), the goal is to manage inflammation and retrain the nervous system. https://endometriosis.net/complementary-alternative-treatment

But there is even more to explore—especially through the lens of our own African heritage.

This Saturday, we are taking the conversation deeper. We are thrilled to partner with Harriet’s Botanicals for a special webinar:
