Kenya Methodist University Medicine Students Association (KeMUMSA) was officially established in January 2013. This was after the realization of three fundamental truths that were later to form the core functions of the association. These are:
- The importance of working together in medical school in order to create a strong sense of belonging
- The role of a common voice in presentation of concerns pertaining to common goals and interests
- The critical need to build all aspects of life not only academically but also socially, physically, and spiritually.
