This morning, Migori County hosted a successful debrief session ahead of the joint field monitoring exercise for the Adolescent Sexual Reproductive Health (ASRH) Development Impact Bond (DIB) II program, at the Migori CHMT Boardroom.
The exercise, a collaborative effort between the UN Joint Team (UNFPA, UNAIDS, WHO, and the SDG Partnership Platform), TIKO Africa, CIFF, and KOIS, aims to reduce teenage pregnancies, new HIV infections, and AIDS-related deaths among adolescents (15-19 years) by improving access to quality reproductive health services.
During the debrief, stakeholders reviewed progress across 13 health facilities, private clinics, and pharmacies in Migori County, including:
-Kugitimo
-Taranganya
-Getontira Medical Clinic
-Jevrose Medical Clinic
-Queenola Chemist
-Clinpharm Pharmacy
The meeting was attended by key representatives from the Migori County Department of Health and The Ministry of Health, including the CECM for Health Services Caleb Opondi, Directors of Public Health & Sanitation CJ Ayungo, and Director of Medical Services Dr. Dan Ochiel, Deputy Directors Tom Odhong' and Dr. James Oduor, CASCO Eliza Owino, CCAHC Frederick Odhiambo, CRHC Joseph Okidi, CHRIO Jesse David, and Development Partners from UNFPA, NASCOP, MOH (Division of RMNCAH), along with the TIKO Africa team.
This session provided valuable insights into the implementation progress, allowed engagement with field officers and beneficiaries, and facilitated discussions on challenges and solutions. It also helped shape a clear action plan for the remaining months of the year, outlining priorities, responsibilities, and timelines.
We remain committed to creating a healthier, more informed, and empowered generation of adolescents in Migori County!
