IS SLEEPING ON ONE SIDE BAD FOR YOUR SPINE?!

When you lie on your side without placing a pillow between your knees, here’s what can happens;

1. Your top leg tends to fall forward and pull the pelvis and lower back out of alignment.

2. That rotation or tilt can place extra stress on your spine, hips and tail bone joint — overnight, without you noticing.

The result? You wake up stiff, sore, or with that nagging ache in your lower back, tail bone or hip.

Over time, this misalignment can contribute to more serious problems (for example back pain strain, hip bursitis, or tailbone discomfort).

🎯 At Katasi Physiotherapy we emphasize this because posture + sleeping position = recovery while you rest. If your sleep posture is poor, your spine, tail bone and hips are still working—just in a bad way—while you “rest”.

✅ So tonight: if you lie on your side, tuck a pillow between your knees. Make sure your knees are slightly bent, your spine and hips feel more level, and you wake up with less aches.
