If you’re wondering how to tell whether an essential oil is authentic, here are a few simple checks:
✔️ Glass bottle – Real essential oils should be stored in glass, not plastic. Oils are potent and can react with plastic over time.
✔️ Dark / non-transparent bottle – Amber or dark bottles protect the oil from light, which preserves its quality and effectiveness.
✔️ Scientific (botanical) name – A genuine oil will always list the plant’s Latin name (for example Lavandula angustifolia for lavender). This tells you exactly what plant you’re buying.
✔️ Price makes sense – Pure essential oils are never extremely cheap, but they also shouldn’t be unrealistically expensive. Quality sourcing and proper extraction have real costs.
Authentic essential oils are about purity, transparency, and proper sourcing not just fragrance.
Choose wisely. Your body knows the difference. 🌱
