✨ Hatua Kubwa katika Huduma za Upasuaji wa Watoto ✨

Kundi letu la matabibu lilifanikisha upasuaji wa aina yake katika Chumba kipya cha upasuaji wa watoto chenye vifaa vya kisasa.

Hii ni hatua muhimu katika kuboresha huduma za afya kwa watoto wa Mombasa, kwa kuhakikisha wanapata matibabu maalum kwa wakati, karibu na nyumbani.

Kwa kuanza kwa huduma hii, familia zitafaidika kwa:

- Matokeo bora zaidi kupitia huduma maalum
- Nafuu kwa familia ambazo zingelazimika kusafiri nje ya Kaunti kupata huduma

✨ A Historic Milestone for Children’s Health in the Coast Region ✨

Today, proudly celebrates a transformative achievement; the unveiling of our newly renovated Paediatric Surgical Theatre, made possible through the generous support of KidsOR.

This milestone is more than bricks and mortar; it is a renewed promise of safe, modern, and dignified surgical care for the children of our region. Together, KidsOR and CGTRH have shown the true power of partnership in advancing equitable healthcare.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to H.E. Governor Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir, whose steadfast leadership continues to champion healthcare excellence, ensuring that such progress directly benefits the people of Mombasa and the wider Coastal region.

The theatre was officially handed over to CGTRH in a soft launch today, with the grand launch set to take place in three months.

With this achievement, CGTRH now proudly stands as home to the first dedicated Paediatric Surgical Theatre in the Coastal region of Kenya, a beacon of hope and healing for generations to come.

✨️Successful Oral Cancer Surgery at CGTRH✨️

At , our dedication to specialized healthcare was once again demonstrated through performance of a complex oral cancer surgery. The patient was diagnosed with oral squamous cell carcinoma of the lower lip, a condition that requires timely intervention for the best outcomes.

The procedure involved a wide tumour excision and reconstruction with local flaps, led by Dr. Hirani (Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon) and Dr. Malik (Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon). Their combined expertise ensured both the complete removal of the cancer and the restoration of function and appearance, underscoring CGTRH’s multidisciplinary approach to patient care.

This case highlights the critical role of early diagnosis in improving prognosis. Patients with non-healing ulcers are strongly encouraged to seek maxillofacial consultation. While not all ulcers are cancerous, early review enables accurate diagnosis and appropriate management, potentially saving lives.

Postoperative histopathology confirmed complete excision of the cancer, and the patient is currently recovering well. This successful outcome reflects the hospital’s commitment to combining surgical expertise with compassionate care.

CGTRH continues to champion specialized interventions that transform patient outcomes, reinforcing our role as a regional centre of excellence in healthcare.
