I've seen people celebrate this young man for calling out his father in public.
Women old enough to be the kid's mother are clapping that he did well.
As much as the dad was wrong, lecturing your dad in public amounts to disrespect.

What becomes of their relationship after the burial?
Some women can plant hate and resentment in their kids towards their father.

My two cent mind: The young man was wrong.
A kid shouldn't take sides in a wedge that happens between parents.
