Taking to the Heart of the Community

KEHPCA joined VINES Kenya in Kisii County for impactful home visits, reaching persons with palliative care needs right where they are.

VINES Kenya, one of KEHPCA’s implementing partners, is delivering community-based palliative care through the Accessible and Equitable Sexual and Reproductive Health in Palliative Care Project, supported by AmplifyChange, with the goal of enhancing the integration of SRH into palliative care.

During the visits, we engaged with patients on critical issues affecting their well-being—including sexual and reproductive health, a vital but often overlooked aspect of care for those living with life-limiting illnesses.

âś… Integrating SRH into is key to delivering holistic, person-centered care that upholds the dignity of every individual.

Sexual and reproductive health (SRH) is a vital component of holistic care for individuals with (PC) needs. It not only promotes overall well-being but also addresses often overlooked and unspoken concerns, particularly within patient-partner relationships.

Through the Accessible and Equitable SRH into PC Project, supported by AmplifyChange, KEHPCA, and its implementing partners, are committed to integrating SRH into palliative care services across various counties.

KEHPCA joined the Coast Hospice—one of our project implementing partners—during a day care session focused on SRH in PC and patient safeguarding. A key highlight of the day was the open discussions among participants—crucial conversations that help patients reclaim dignity, foster understanding, and strengthen emotional bonds with their loved ones.

Coast Hospice continues to provide quality in the region, while also mentoring nearby facilities and equipping healthcare workers with essential knowledge.

We commend the dedicated team at Coast Hospice, led by Eric Amisi, for their unwavering commitment and impactful service.
