Ciheb Kenya continues to play a central role in strengthening health systems. Earlier today, we took part in the launch of the Nairobi Integrated Specimen Referral System (ISRS) Operational Plan.
ISRS is a coordinated system that ensures patient samples move efficiently from health facilities to laboratories for testing, with results returned on time. This is critical in expanding access to essential diagnostics - such as HIV viral load testing, early infant diagnosis, and TB testing ultimately enabling timely clinical decisions and improving patient outcomes.
Through our partnership with Nairobi County, we have supported the scale-up of diagnostic services across health facilities, strengthening laboratory systems, improving turnaround times and enhancing service delivery.
A key highlight of the event was the handover of vehicles, motorbikes, and a truck to the County - marking an important step towards sustainability and county ownership in the spirit of government-to-government (G2G) collaboration.
Ciheb Kenya receives both technical and financial support from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), through the CDC Kenya Office, enabling us to implement impactful, life-saving health programs across the country.
