Being ill has humbled me in ways I didn’t expect.

👡 It has slowed me down.
🛌🏿 It has put me on mandatory bed rest.

And it has quietly transitioned me into a gluten-free, blended-foods season.
🌽 No maize flour.
🌾 No wheat flour.

Mostly meals served from bed.

Today looked like this:
🍌 Banana & blueberry smoothie for breakfast
🥣 Water porridge topped with dragon fruit, banana & honey for lunch

Not exactly my taste palette—but my body needed gentleness, not excitement.

As I look forward to dinner (maybe a green smoothie 😄), I’m learning something important:

Healing sometimes asks us to let go of comfort foods and embrace simple nourishment.
This season is teaching me to listen.

🛌🏿 To rest without guilt.
🌿 To eat for healing, not pleasure.
❤️ To trust that this, too, will pass.

Food is still available. Let’s not overeat or overfeed.

In seasons of abundance, it’s easy to overfill our plates and our children’s plates.
But overeating doesn’t mean nourishment — it often leads to waste, discomfort, and poor digestion.

✨ Eat to satisfy, not to stuff
✨ Serve reasonable portions, you can always add more
✨ Listen to hunger and fullness cues
✨ Preserve and store food wisely instead of forcing consumption

Food is not running away.
There will still be another meal.
