Happy Mother's Day 2026 to all mothers.

As a network of young mental health practitioners, we recognize and deeply appreciate the integral role mothers play in shaping a child’s formative years.

Today, we celebrate your selfless love, care, strength, and sacrifice in nurturing and guiding a new generation. Your impact extends far beyond the home settings, you are raising future leaders, dreamers, and changemakers across the world.

Thank you for all that you do. We honor and celebrate you today and always.

Today, we join the world in commemorating International Wellness Day 2026, as we encourage our people to be deliberate about the general well-being.

Wellness is the active, dynamic, conscious pursuit of activities, choices, and lifestyles that lead to holistic health.

Holistic wellness encompasses multiple, interconnected aspects which includes physical, mental, intellectual, emotional, social aspects, spiritual, environmental, occupational domains.

Remember, we can only attain complete wellness if all other aspects of well-being are taken care of.

Imagine spending more than half of your lifetime somewhere you don't feel appreciated, valued, supported or always under high pressure to perform.

Whose is responsible for workplace mental health and wellness?

Globally, it is estimated that 15% of the working population has at least one mental health condition. In Kenya, this implies an estimated 3.7 million of the 24.9 million workforce might be living with a mental health condition.

In 2021, mental health conditions cost the Kenyan economy KES 62.2 billion, an equivalent loss of 0.6% of the GDP in 2020. The majority of these costs was attributed to absenteeism (49%) and presenteeism (30%).

Is random webinars and seminars on mental health related topics enough?

We join the world in commemorating World Autism Awareness Day 2026.

When children struggle socially in making communication, interacying with others or making restricted repeated behaviours, it's a sign of them crying out for help not to be judged or treated differently because of their condition.

Together, we can make a conducive environment for all children to help them actualise their innate potential.
