SEMINARIAN SERIES
1. AMONG THE ASPIRANTS YOU WERE CHOSEN
You were not the only one who dreamed of the priesthood. There were many who sat in the same interviews, filled out the same forms, and prayed the same prayers. There were those who were serious, those who were sincere, and those who were seeking. But among them, you were chosen.
Not because you were the best. Not because you were the holiest. Not because you had it all together. You were chosen because God, in His mercy, looked at you and whispered, “This one. I will form this one.”
That truth should humble you, not fill you with pride, but with quiet wonder. Out of many hearts, God placed His hand on yours. You stepped forward when others stepped away. That is not a small thing.
But being chosen isn’t the end of the story, it’s just the beginning. Now comes the hidden work: the dying to self, the quiet learning, the wrestling in prayer, the constant surrender. You are not a finished product; you are clay in the Potter’s hands.
So when you feel like you don’t belong, remember: you were chosen.
When you are tempted to compare yourself, remember: you were chosen.
And when the journey feels too much, fall to your knees and thank God that He still chooses you, every day.
You are here not by accident, but by providence.
And that truth should carry you, through every joy, every struggle, and every step ahead.
