🌍Today, Action for Sustainability Initiative convened our first and Wellness Session for our 2 rightholder groups to equip them with practical strategies to manage mental health challenges, navigate the recent changes in program support, and enhance financial independence.

Key Takeaways from Our Session:
✅ Understanding common stressors, learning practical coping strategies, and prioritizing self-care.
✅ Discussing the effects of program support shifts and exploring alternative resources for continued access to care. Rightsholders emphasized the urgent need for government intervention, strengthened community-led support, and diversified funding sources to sustain programs despite the recent freezing of USAID support for ARVs.
✅ Sharing actionable steps for financial sustainability, entrepreneurship, and job opportunities to enhance long-term independence.

This session sparked insightful discussions, real-life problem-solving, and peer support, reinforcing the importance of community-driven solutions to sustain health, well-being, and economic resilience.

🚀 As we work toward sustainable solutions, we remain committed to advancing health, well-being, and economic resilience for young people in our communities.

Today, Action for Sustainability Initiative, in collaboration with STEM Impact Center Kenya, had the privilege of engaging students at Nairobi South Junior High School in a mentorship session and workshop. The young learners were exposed to diverse career paths, equipping them with problem-solving skills, and inspiring them to embrace innovation.
Many students lack access to guidance, making it difficult for them to envision possibilities beyond traditional fields. By providing mentorship, we help them explore their potential and connect their to real-world opportunities.

STEM education plays a critical role in shaping the future workforce. It fosters creativity, critical thinking, and hands-on problem-solving skills that are essential in today’s evolving job market. Early exposure to STEM not only builds confidence but also encourages more young people, especially , to pursue careers in science and technology.

When we invest in mentorship and STEM learning, we invest in a future of empowered, skilled, and innovative young minds.

Today marks 25 years since the signing of the Charter of Paris Against Cancer. This , themed "United by Unique," reminds us that while every cancer journey is different, collective action can drive meaningful change. 🌍

In Sub-Saharan Africa, cancer is a growing crisis:
📊 801K new cases, 520K deaths (2020)
🚺 Women: Breast (129K cases), Cervical (110K cases)
🚹 Men: Prostate (77K cases), Liver, Colorectal
⚠️ Cervical cancer alone accounts for over one-third of global deaths in the region.

Without urgent intervention, deaths could double by 2030. Now is the time to invest in prevention, vaccinations, screening, and treatment accessibility.

Today, on International Day of Education 2025, we reaffirm our commitment at AFOSI to transforming lives through education.

Education is not just a fundamental right—it is the most powerful tool for breaking the cycle of poverty, fostering innovation, and creating a sustainable future. In a world where 70% of Kenya’s population is under 35, empowering young minds with knowledge and skills is more than a mission; it’s an urgent necessity.

At AFOSI, we work tirelessly to ensure every child and young person—especially in underserved communities like Kibra and Mukuru Kwa Ruben—has access to quality education that equips them for a better tomorrow.

This year’s theme, 'Invest in People, Prioritize Education,' reminds us all that a brighter future begins with prioritizing learning opportunities for all, especially the most vulnerable. Let’s invest in education, foster innovation, and unlock the potential of our youth to lead us toward a sustainable, equitable future.
