What are the barriers preventing young people from meaningfully participating in policy making processes?

Hear from Ger Odock, a development consultant, as he shares key insights on this critical issue.

This conversation was at the core of the Training of Trainers (ToTs) under the Sheria Ya Vijana Project, where participants examined the structural, informational and socio-economic challenges that continue to limit youth engagement in decision-making spaces.

In partnership with Barnfonden European Union in Kenya Stretchers Youth Organization Organization of African Youth-Kenya WeWorld Kenya Climate Innovation Center Sweden.se and Sida - Styrelsen för Internationellt Utvecklingssamarbete , we are building the capacity of youth leaders to actively participate, advocate and shape inclusive policies.

This World Water Day, we reflect on the theme “Water and Gender” a powerful reminder that access to water is deeply connected to equality.

For many women and girls, lack of safe water limits education, health, and economic opportunities. Ensuring equitable access is key to building inclusive and sustainable communities.

Because where water flows, equality grows.

The discussion highlighted an important truth young people have the ideas, energy and potential to drive meaningful change, but barriers to participation continue to limit their influence.

To build a more inclusive future, we must create opportunities, platforms and systems that actively empower youth to contribute and lead.
