Political Unrest & Social Media

Whenever there are anti-government demonstrations the need for information is normal, and social media contact provides that. But the mix of fact, experience and fiction that emerges on these digital platforms can also cause anxiety, fear and inflame tribal hatred among the public.

Images and videos (some fake or taken out of context) of burning infrastructure, fences torn down or other acts of civil disobedience generate their own momentum and arguably provoke further violence.

A social media-consuming public can add fuel to the fire by resharing content that’s inflammatory or simply untrue.

Have you added fuel to the fire? What are your thoughts on the above topic?

The Past teaches us the Present.

History gives us the tools to analyze and explain problems in the past, it positions us to see patterns that might otherwise be invisible in the present – thus providing a crucial perspective for understanding (and solving!) current and future problems.
Are there any patterns in the present from the past, that you anticipate being a problem in the future?

What is a blessing can surely be a curse. Be aware and protect yourself accordingly.
