WEGO Green Laser Surgical System Obtains Class III Medical Device Registration Certificate

The Nd:YAG frequency-doubled laser treatment equipment (referred to as the "green laser device") independently developed by WEGO Laser Medical Equipment Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as the "Company") obtained the Class III medical device registration certificate issued by the National Medical Products Administration on December 4th (registration number: Guoxiezhun20233011826), marking WEGO's leading position in the domestic field of prostate enlargement medical products.

Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is a common urinary obstruction disease in middle-aged and elderly men. Its incidence increases with age, with over 50% of men over 60 years old suffering from BPH, reaching as high as 90% by the age of 80. With the continued aging of the population, the number of BPH patients is increasing year by year.

In the past, TURP (Transurethral Resection of the Prostate) was considered the gold standard for BPH treatment. However, clinical findings have revealed that it is not suitable for patients with anesthesia intolerance, advanced age, heart stents, pacemakers, and high-risk patients, with high intraoperative bleeding and high risk for patients taking anticoagulants. Additionally, there are numerous postoperative complications and a long recovery period. In recent years, the rise of laser technology has effectively addressed the contraindications of TURP.

The green laser device can efficiently vaporize gland tissues of any volume and shape, with a high power cutting rate, no bleeding during surgery, clear visibility, significantly shortened operation time, greatly improved safety and effectiveness of surgery, and is suitable for elderly patients or high-risk patients with concomitant cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases (including those with heart pacemakers, coronary artery stents), chronic pulmonary diseases, diabetes, thrombocytopenia, and the need for anticoagulant therapy. It has fewer postoperative complications, rapid recovery, and can be performed as a day surgery.

🌟 Accurate and Smooth Operation 🌟

On the morning of December 7th, the gynecology team at Dazhou Central Hospital successfully performed a robotic-assisted laparoscopic total hysterectomy with bilateral adnexectomy using the state-of-the-art WEGO Miaoshou Surgical Robot. The following day, the general surgery team accomplished a tension-free repair of a right inguinal hernia using the same robotic assistance. The application of medical robotic technology at Dazhou Central Hospital has reached new heights in various departments, thanks to the remarkable WEGO Miaoshou Surgical Robot.

Combining the patient's physical condition and thorough communication with the patient and their family, the hospital's experts unanimously decided to employ the domestically produced WEGO Miaoshou Surgical Robot for the gynecological procedure. Under the guidance of Deputy Chief Physician Qiu Ruihong and her team, a detailed and meticulous surgical plan was formulated, resulting in a successful surgery lasting about two hours for a 58-year-old patient (pseudonym) named Ms. Li.

In the field of general surgery, Director Zhang Jun's team operated the WEGO Miaoshou Surgical Robot to perform a tension-free repair of an inguinal hernia on a gentleman over sixty years old. During the procedure, the WEGO Miaoshou robot's ten-fold high-definition magnification and true depth-of-field restoration enabled precise control of the operating distance, identification of anatomical structures, and overcame the challenge of limited space through breakthrough design and decoupling technology of the robot's lightweight silk transmission system.

"Give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four sharpening the axe." With this understanding, Dazhou Central Hospital has successfully carried out dozens of level 4-5 difficulty robotic minimally invasive surgeries in departments such as gynecology, general surgery, thoracic surgery, and urology. The combination of highly skilled surgeons and the precise and smooth operation of the robotic system has significantly improved patient safety and medical quality.
